EUBIA Industry Award
The 9th EUBIA Industry Award was delivered this year on the occasion of the 19th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition recognising Vattenfall Business Unit Biomass for its "outstanding contribution to the development of the Biomass Energy Sector and its market". The prize was officially awarded on the 7th June, by Tord Fjällström, EUBIA President, to Göran Lundgren, Vice President of Vattenfall Business Unit Biomass during the 5th Biomass Industry Forum.
Vattenfall Business Unit Biomass has been chosen this year for making a strong effort to introduce biomass on a large scale in their cogeneration plants and also co-firing in coal plants. Vattenfall currently has more than 40 heat and power plants fired in full or in part by biomass. Every year Vattenfall uses more than 3 million tonnes of biomass.
