General Information about Lyon and the Conference Venue

The Rhône region never leaves anyone indifferent – the contrasts of its landscapes and Beaujolais vineyards constantly surprise. The 18th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition will take place at the Cité Internationale, the tangible result of one of Lyon's most ambitious projects located between the Rhône and the Parc de la Tête d'Or. This luminous, transparent and functional “city in a city” has been designed by the contemporary architect Renzo Piano in following the curve of the river. The Cité Internationale offers a completely new concept of urban development, serving both environmental and economical growth.
