From 18-22 June 2012, the attention of the biomass community will be focused on the European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EU BC&E), taking place in Milan. The EU BC&E ranks among the leading events in Europe and among the first in the world dedicated to biomass & bioenergy. By participating in this international event, the exponents of the energy sector have the possibility to obtain a complete panorama of the most recent technical innovations and the latest developments of the European and international biomass market.

Now at its 20th edition, this event offers the largest and most complete conference & exhibition for the biomass and bioenergy sector. The well-structured programme is composed of a group of sessions that cover every aspect of a topic. The growing numbers of participants at the 2011 edition anticipate what will be the size of 2012 in Italy and may be called the Italian biomass event of the year, dedicated to sustainable energy with an high international acclaim.

The 20th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition, one of the most important events of the sector, provides an exclusive international platform for exchange between experts in the field of research, industry and politics.

About 2,000 participants from 70 countries are expected to discuss new markets, production methods and applications, as well as policies, standards and incentives in the field of biomass.

The assumption of the binding target of 17% for renewables in Italy and the outcome of the Italian referendum on nuclear power in 2011 have increased the interest and the initiatives of policy makers and market traders in the production of renewable energy.

It is now recognized by the international community, as well as by the National Action Plan for Renewables that the development of bioenergies is fundamental for the achievement of this target.

With the forthcoming introduction of the decree on renewables of the 28 March 2011, a further development of the biomass sector in Italy is expected, that even in past years has shown high growth rates.
