           PRESS RELEASE - 14 September 2005

The 14th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition - Biomass for Energy, Industry and Climate Protection will take place in Paris from 17 to 21 October 2005 at the Palais des Congrés.

This edition of the European Biomass Conference follows the successful events in Amsterdam (2002) and in Rome (2004). It became a “must” appointment in the field of renewable energy sources where biomass will play a major role for the future sustainable energy supply.

A broad audience constituted from the main stakeholders in the field of biomass, policy makers, delegates from industries, research and development institutes, from utilities, power suppliers, bioenergy user from different countries will provide an excellent opportunity for exchange of knowledge and for the presentation of the latest technologies, projects and strategies.

More than 1.000 participants from over 80 countries are expected to attend the Conference. More than 800 presentations (Plenary, Oral and Visual Presentations) from over 70 nations have been selected by the Scientific Committee.

The Conference Topics (Biomass resources; Research and development of bioenergy technologies; Demonstration and market implementation of biomass utilisation in heat and electricity production and in the transport sector; International biofuel and certificate trade and policy issues; Economics and Benefits from Biomass; International Co-operation and Biomass utilisation for poverty alleviation and sustainable development) are considered highly relevant to create stimulating and productive discussion and debate.

The Biomass Exhibition will take place in parallel to the Conference, with the partecipation of companies and organisations from biomass industries, suppliers, system distributors, bioenergy promoters, bioenergy consultants, users of biomass related applications and further.

The Conference together with the Exhibition will give a strong impetus to the global development in the biomass field.
